Friends of Sandford Park

Cllr. Paul Baker, was inaugurated as Mayor of Cheltenham on 20th May 2024. During his Mayoral year, May 2024 - May 2025, several Fund Raising Events will be held to raise money for and be shared equally among the new Mayor's chosen Charities, Aim Up, Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees, Caring for Communities and People, Friends of Sandford Park which was founded by the Mayor in 2014. Everyone is warmly encouraged to participate. Details of events will be posted here at the appropriate times and as details become available. So please keep an eye upon this page. The support of everybody is not only requested and encouraged but will be rewarded by some great and memorable experiences

NEW CHAPTERS exhibition at SIXTEEN GALLERY
This will be an exhibition by people who turned to art during a very difficult period of transition in their lives.

Aisha charts the experiences of a young Nigerian woman as she seeks international protection in Ireland. Caught in limbo for years in Ireland's immigration system, Aisha Osagie develops a friendship with former prisoner Conor Healy whom she meets at one of the accommodation centres. Dame Prudence Margaret Leith DBE

Prue Leith is as restauranteur, television presenter/broadcaster, cookery writer and novelist. She is Chancellor of Queen Margaret University Edinburgh. She was a judge on BBC Two's Great British Menu for eleven years, before joining The Great British Bake Off in March 2017

Her honours include the Veuve Cliquot Business Woman of the Year in 1990 and thirteen honorary degrees or fellowships from UK universities. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1989, Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 Birthday Honours and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2021 Birthday Honours for services to food, broadcasting and charity.
